The Evaluation for Oral Examination by Using ofIntra-Oral Camera

Abstract
|
|
|
Objective: This study is intended to find out the service value of the intraoral camera in the oral examination by comparing and analyzing the consistency of the result obtained by using the recently developed intraoral camera to analyze the film or oral photo and the result of record by the examination of dentist.
Methods: Consistence kappa value between two methods of oral examination as routine inspection method and the image analysis by use of oral camera and the final decision by 3 dentists discussing through the re-examination at the inconsistency tooth surface of oral examination for 65 volunteer subjects.
Results: Consistence index was calculated as 0.965 between the inspection and image analysis method, otherwise 0.957 be-tween the inspection and the final decision and 0.965 between the image analysis method and final decision, as high co-incidence rate. But there were no significant different statistically between each method.
Conclusion: It was concluded that oral camera could be used for dental survey as well as oral examination for public oral health program as oral health education or web site dental care system for remote area residents, in case of reducing the process time with high resolute pixel digital camera by diminishing the photos from 19 or 20 cuts 3 or 4 cuts, in near future.
